A None White Xmas

Week 1/52 of 2026

No snow again this year in the middle of the grey and gloomy UK, I was going to post monthly but I’m challenging my brain and motivation to every week for a Monday evening post schedule. I’m definitely not making any promises to keep to that.

Photography wise over the festive period it has been none existent for a number or reason’s. First is family commitments, second is I have three thousand images I’m sorting from a recent trip away and finally on the 23rd of December I was involved in a car crash with a Deer. Luckily it wasn’t one of Santa’s and the crash was very minor with the car been still drivable and the Deer walked away looking okay. Still car needs work and it was a pain to get it booked in and sorted just before Santa’s favourite day so free time has been at a premium and it suck any little motivation I had away. This year has been the First Christmas morning I haven’t done a sunrise walk.

I did photograph my niece Christmas afternoon and now I’m official family snapper, I don’t mind really it’s good to document moments with family. Unfortunately for the internet those images will remain private but they looked good, apparently they looked professional but I must have a nice camera to make photos like that from what I’m told. I’m also booked in again New Year’s Eve for the same with my expensive shine professional magic box. This time I’m dusting my flashgun off as it will be dark and currently trying to relearn how it works. Artificial lighting is a mysterious dark art which I’m not familiar with as I’m a sun I mean cloud and rain worshiper myself.
